The redhead gathering

Ginger, deep burgundy, bright orange, copper, flaming red.

You name it and there were forty shades of red in the beautiful town of Crosshaven, County Cork last weekend as the Red Head Convention came to town.

Hundreds of gingers proudly showcased their curly red hair, straight red hair, ginger beards, red eyebrows, freckles and more for a gathering event with a difference. Even the four legged, tailed red heads got in on the act.

For any of the one in ten Irish or one of ten million US red heads who boast flaming tresses it was definitely a homecoming.

After ”redgisteration”, the fun and games began. From carrot tossing, red beer at the delightful Cronins pub, ginger discounts on a range of activities or the chance to be squashed into a big red bus with as many other gingers as it could fit (tried that in a mini once not quite as successfully).

King n Queen of the red heads, Cork

Awards were handed out for the curliest red hair, longest red hair, red-est eyebrows, best red beard and of course King and Queen of the redheads.

Red fire juggling, a Guinness record for the most amount of ginger nut biscuits baked in one hour, even Bosco was rumoured to make an appearance (okay that was a bit extreme).

A fun filled festival in a beautiful Cork town just at the end of the summer. Not much wrong with that
