Whats blowin in the wind this summer in Donegal?

Get jiggy with it on Tory this June with your participation in Tostál Thoraigh when all and sundry are welcome to join in the traditional Tory céilí dance just off the Donegal coast, well maybe slightly inland away from the wind n waves

Competing for your toe tapping skills is the Sea Sessions Surf and Music Festival the very same weekend in the surfing capital of the north west, Bundoran, Co. Donegal

If you’ve recovered from all that and have an appetite for some more trad, set and ceili dancing, check out the Dunfanaghy Festival of Traditional Irish Music on the last weekend in June.

From beginners to old hands you can improve your flute and whistle playing among other things at the Exploration of Irish Music mid July at another Donegal venue, this time at Glencolmcille

The headline making MacGill Summer School and Arts Week is in its fourth decade and takes place in the Glenties in Donegal late July while the Annual Donegal Fiddle Summer School strings along the following weekend in Glencolmcille

August bursts open in Ulster with song and dance at the Ballyshannon Folk and Traditional Music taking place around the same time at the Letterkenny Live Music Festivals so no shortage of tunes ringing in your ears across the Hills of Donegal this summer.

Fancy your shot at fame? Then check out the National Songwriter event in Moville, Co. Donegal early August but if you want to take a back seat and cheer from the stalls, then the Kilcar Fleadh is the place to be from August 5th to 11th

Variety being the spice of life, you can spice up your audio horizons in Donegal Town at the end of August with the Voices By The Ocean classical, choral and opera fest or see what’s blowin in the wind over at the Dylan Festival in Moville over a few days at the end of the month when you too can shake your tambourine.

Man.

And with a little help from your friends, you can get back to where you really belong at the Beatles Festival just before the school days start again in Moville, Co Donegal this August
