Waterford’s next door neighbours in Wexford are busying themselves as well with the parallel Opera and Fringe Festivals taking place from mid October right through to early November.
The Fringe features cabaret, comedy, circus, dance, film, theatre, puppetry, music, and visual art, many of which are free to attend.
The Opera Festival itself takes place at lunchtime, afternoon and evening venues from October 23rd to November 3rd. This year’s calendar of events includes La Traviata (love story of a woman who strayed) to mark the 200th anniversary of Verdi’s birth.
