Best known for The Commitments which went on to enormous movie success in the dull late eighties of Ireland, Roddy Doyle has taught and written over many years from his base on Dublin’s northside.
His novel Paddy Clarke Ha Ha Ha won the Booker Prize, Britain’s highest literary award in 1993.
