Phoenix Park

Providing one of the biggest wide open green spaces close to the city in Europe and housing a large herd of fallow deer, Polo Grounds, the President’s house, the US Ambassador’s residence and of course the a-Zoo (local spelling).

The deer have been present in the park since the 17th century (not the same ones of course) when they were hunted for sport by the entry of the day.

Serving the public outdoor needs through sports fields, cycle and walking routes.

In recent years, Farmleigh House, a nearby estate once belonging to the Guinness family and now refurbished by the state lies adjacent to the Park and if you are luck enough you could make it in time for one of the not to be missed tea parties.
