Puppetry, Red Riding Hood, Pinochio, sustainable cardboard houses. Yes, it must be the Baboró International Arts Festival for kids and what better art-y venue than Galway city. All this week, right up until Sunday, you can release your inner child or children and indulge your creative self in all manner of fun filled fantastic feasts at the many events on offer.

This weekend, you can walk on the wild side and explore the wild beauty and history of Connemara at the Connemara Four Seasons Autumn Walking Festival. So if you’re shoes were made for walking, head on down to Clifden this Friday for some wild western fun.

Also competing for your attention this weekend with a maritime flavour is the Conamara Sea Week at which the people of Letterfrack have been celebrating the sea and its rich heritage for almost thirty years.

Macnas, trick or treat, fancy dress, scary monster runs. Oh  yes its Halloween in Galway. The  Abooo Halloween Festival promises some wicked fun for ghosts and ghouls of all ages. Bring a sense of humour, a strong heart and comfortable walking shoes for traipsing around the Latin quarter.

Ho ho ho, hee, hee, hee. A barrel of laughs to be had at the Galway comedy festival, festooned with the likes of David O’Doherty, Jason Byrne, Andrew Maxwell, Neil Delamere,  Maeve Higgins, Colin Murphy , the fabulous Faulty Towers: the Dining Experience, Karl Spain, and more. Phew. Hee, hee, hee.
