Festivals in Ireland this September

Check out the Limerick Pride Festival, a colourful exciting weeklong festival with plenty of activities to keep you entertained. Organised by the LBGT, Limerick Pride promises a fun week with something for everyone.

Head over to Waterford for the Waterford Harvest Festival, a city wide festival celebrating food heritage and culture which includes some food tours, cookery demos, taste workshops, barbeques, street performances and some big outdoor music gigs. Mmmmmm, mmmm. The festival encourages its visitors from all over Ireland to experience an exciting range of culinary delights by educating them on the appreciation of clean, fair food.

Another food festival takes place in the bustling Cork town of Skibbereen, where a unique mix of food markets, cookery competition, special dinners, brunches, banquets, foot-tasting, children’s events, guided walks, boat tours and some fantastic live music. Celebrating the quality and diversity of local restaurants, the festival is a must for all those with an interest in food.

The Tramore Oceanic Surf and Sea Festival is a revival of an age old tradition in Tramore, one which celebrates its relationship with the sea. It hosts many family friendly events such as surfing, eco walks, seaweed and coastal talks, skating, dog shows, evening entertainment, art and some history and photographic exhibitions.

Finally, the Skerries Soundwaves Festival reaches its 9th year, and brings different music genres and art forms together in the stunning town of Skerries. A festival street party, street entertainment, night parade and spectacular fireworks on Skerries Harbour are among the highlights. Don’t miss out.
