The Castle was built in 1425 and restored to its former glory in 1954 and now contains mainly 15th and 16th century furnishings, tapestries, and works of art.
Today, the castle stands peacefully in delightful grounds. The cottages of the folk park spread out at the foot of its massive walls, much in same the way that the cottages would have clustered around its base during the 15th century.
