Head back to the Donegal hills and even further back with Lough Eske Castle tracing its roots all the way back to the late 1400’s and the famous O’Donnell family that founded the nearby town of Donegal. While the castle houses a date stone of 1621, the current Castle was constructed in the 1860s but alas destroyed by fire in just before the Emergency (not that Emergency).
