Taibhdhearc na Gaillimhe

Founded in 1928, the name of the theatre has meanings such as ‘to dream’, ‘to appear’ or even ‘a ghost’, something that may have resonance in that the building itself is built on the ruins of the city’s original Augustinian friary in the heart of the mediaeval Galway. A much sought after venue for drama and music productions, the venue is especially popular during the annual¬†Galway Arts Festival.
