Oktoberfest Dublin

Adopting one of Europe’s oldest festival traditions, combining the finest northern European foods (lots of meat) with beers of all sorts in a communal type setting, Dublin (and many other pubs in citys across Ireland) have taken to Octoberfest like, well Bavarians to beer, Frankfuters to well, frankfurters and Hamburgers to…okay, we get the picture.

Chestnuts may not be roasting on an open fire but the bratwurst may smell even better sizzling on a charcoal barbecue, while one awaits a refill of a jug of beer for that Dutch courage before stepping out in the newly acquired leder-hosen or shoulder length plaits (and that’s just the men) to the bellowing melodia of accordions.
