Now this is definitely one festival where you won't see too many long faces well, maybe except for the ponies and horses. One of Ireland's oldest fairs, dating back almost two centuries, the horse fair takes place over three days in October. From native Connemara ponies to all manner of horse breeds this is a show for all the family with side shows of all sorts, street stalls, fireworks, tug-o-war, street & vintage parade, arts & crafts, music, the lot.
